Les Coquettes Nouveau Burlesque

Gravenhurst, ON… Theatre Muskoka is thrilled to present a sensational evening of song, dance and theatre with Les Coquettes Nouveau Burlesque on Friday November 4 and Saturday November 5, 2005 at the Gravenhurst Opera House, 295 Muskoka Road South.

Les Coquettes Nouveau Burlesque is a troupe of vivacious and talented musical theatre performers that has been performing to over-packed houses across the GTA for the past 2 years. First in the guise of Parisian Courtesans of the 1890’s à la Moulin Rouge, then in the Jazz Age manner of Chicago; Les Coquettes have put a modern spin on the tongue in cheek world of burlesque.

After a successful premiere production of Nurse Jane goes to Hawaii this past August, Theatre Muskoka is looking forward to offering a variety of ‘mini’ productions throughout the year in Gravenhurst and the Muskoka region. The company is delighted to have Les Coquettes Nouveau Burlesque as their first such offering.

Theatre Muskoka is a professional company, working under the aegis of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association. Theatre Muskoka employs professional union actors and whenever possible will hire actors from the community as well. Theatre Muskoka is working toward giving opportunities to the young people of the area, on and back stage and include educational outreach as part of its mandate.
