KT Tunstall's gorgeous and poignant debut disc Eye To The Telescope has just been acknowledged with a nomination for this year's Mercury Music Prize. This stands her shoulder to shoulder with artist such as Coldplay, Bloc Party, MIA and Kaiser Chiefs. This singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist's debut has reached No.3 in the U.K. charts.

In addition to her UK dominance, she is fast gaining an international presence as a Top 20 seller in France and with Top 20 airplay in countries like Ireland, Italy, Brazil and Chile. Eye To The Telescope has also been released in Australia, Singapore, Mexico and other territories.

The 12 album tracks were recorded in a 'gnarly little studio in the woods' with production by Steve Osborne (U2, New Order, Happy Mondays). The lo-fi, visceral boot-wielding approach was inspired by KT's conversation to the hiss and crackle of early blues. KT has also shared performance stages this part year alongside Joss Stone and others.
