The Gladstone Hotel was rockin’ last weekend for the official pre-MMVA party. A host to many of Canada’s top music stars, The Puma Rockstar Hotel boasted a red carpet entrance to welcome the celebs as hundreds of VVIPs waited at the entrances of different rooms to score some free swag.

The various lounges were sponsored by Puma, Fido, Zune, Pioneer and Fuze energy drinks, offering up their freebies to those adorning a VVIP bracelet.

Herbal Essences sponsored a “pose like a rockstar” booth while downstairs, the XBOX 360 was in full effect for those unwilling to wait to get through the crowds of pre-MMVA’ers trying to schmooze their way upstairs. It was like waiting in line at Paramount Canada’s Wonderland…wait, wait……move…wait, wait….only you got just a brief burst of energy when you moved a bit and then rush up the stairs to the next line.

K-OS, Kalan Porter and Fefe Dobson were some of the Canadian celebs on site, and Fefe was so sweet to invite us into her room to chill out for a bit. Some were lucky enough to just catch a mere glimpse of the NKOTB (New Kids on the Block) as they passed by quickly enough to avoid all photographers and admirers. Montreal rockers Mat Joly (lead) and Pierre-Marc Hamelin (drums) were roaming around and socializin’ with all the attendees. The French really do know how to have a good time! We hung out for a bit with them and then stole their tour manager Boe Benjamin and enjoyed most of the night chillin’, crowd watchin’ and enjoying a few fizzee pops. Boe will have his hands full this summer as Mobile hits the road in prelude to their upcoming album- due out soon. Not to overlook the fact that Boe, had his hands full with a slew of women that were hanging around with us at the end of the night - too funny! Neverending White Lights singer, Daniel Victor was covorting with the Mobile crew and roaming from room to room being his charming self. He had an interesting blend of friends in tow, including one guy who’s hair was so perfectily coiffed (Joey in picture with Orlena) that Talia and I thought was a hairdresser - wrong!
