Thirstywear

A hot new leisure line with a unique concept is launching its spring/summer 2008 collection. Thirstywear (www.thirstywear.ca), which launched in summer 2007, is a line of funky hoodies, dresses, shorts, pants and skirts that are made from pre-shrunk, 100 per cent cotton terry towels and are perfect for the cottage, pool, camping or weekend wear. It’s a revolutionary fashion concept that combines style and comfort for everyone from toddlers to teenagers to adults.

The brainchild behind this exciting fashion concept is vintage clothing collector and mother of two, Lisa Eisen. After watching her children shiver after getting out of the lake up at her cottage, she decided it was time to throw discomfort overboard. “Instead of wrapping them in towels that didn’t completely warm them up, why not let them wear their towels?” Knowing how important it is to look cool, Eisen created adorable pieces that can be worn together, or as separates that dry in minutes.

From plain-chic to the latest bohemian trends, Thirstywear comes in a variety of solid colours, patterns and styles ready to match any bathing suit or personality. Cleverly named after Canadian hot spots, this season’s teen/adult collection includes a total of seven pieces for both guys and gals including the Rocky Mountain Hoody, Salt Spring Low Slung Skirt, Miss Muskoka Dress, Killarney Killer Shorts, Wreck Beach Yoga Pants, Tofino Cargo Pants (unisex) and the Algonquin Cargo Shorts (unisex).

The Miniature line, for kids aged three and up, also has the same seven pieces available. Each interchangeable piece in both lines is embellished with an embroidered vintage-style patch.

Thirsty Wear is an eco-friendly solution to the seemingly endless pile of dirty towels. Each time you come out of the water, simply slip on a Thirstywear outfit and you’re ready to hop into the car, onto the boat or inside for lunch saving water and energy of washing towels.

“After its first highly successful season, Thirstywear has developed a loyal following, capturing the attention of style-conscious customers from all walks of life, ages, and fitness levels,” according to Trendhunter.com. The line is perfect for those who want to soak up style and make what they wear truly their own.

The collection is manufactured and distributed by World Famous Sales. Each piece is affordably priced from $19.99 to $49.99 and is available at 24 stores in Ontario and will be in Simon’s and Schreter’s in Quebec and stores across B.C. in spring/summer 2008. All pieces are also available online at www.thirstywear.ca.
