Once upon a time, there was never a reason to cross Bathurst on Bloor Street West unless you were looking for electronics, knick knacks or heading to Honest Ed’s - that is, until now. Launching in November, long-time Annex resident and top-notch bra fitting boutique Secrets From Your Sister is moving west, giving the strip its first major facelift and bringing with it some feminine mystique and divine decadence.
The shiny new 1400 sq ft. Secrets From Your Sister retail environment, located at 560 Bloor Street West, has been transformed from a previously languid space into an ooh-la-la destination sensation. The French country chic interior, dreamed up by owner Jennifer Klein and designed by interior designer Maddie Dolegowski, welcomes women into a warm, comfortable cocoon of lingerie shopping, mixing classic designs with rich patterns and textures. Custom made wall units by Patrick Turner (Thout Design) are fitted with an eclectic variety of doorknobs displaying a menagerie of wares from satin and silk to lace and cotton.
A crystal chandelier hangs above the six fitting rooms where women can happily surrender their asset management to the well-trained Secrets From Your Sister staff, who for almost a decade have been making women feel great from the inside out selling properly fitted bras. Gone are the days of sterile department store bra fittings, at Secrets From Your Sister, women can have fun and feel comfortable browsing the store in the personal robes provided for shoppers.
A reading lounge provides space for friends and family to relax, so women can take their time selecting the perfect undergarment. The child-friendly store, including a wide entrance with automatic doors, makes it easy for nursing mothers with strollers to check out the exclusive lines of nursing bras - Amoralia from England and Condessa from the U.S.
The enlarged boutique will carry more stock and more sizes to better suit customer’s immediate needs. New luscious items for the fall season, in sexy colours like chocolates, silvers, grays, leopard print and deep hues of purple and red are on hand in hard-to-find lines from Europe and the U.S. such as Fantasie, Freya, Chantelle, Princesse Tam Tam, Shock Absorber, Elle Macpherson, Betsey Johnson and Panache.
Secrets From Your Sister also stocks slips, garter belts and special lingerie accessories such as Bra Buddies (transform any regular bra into racer back style), Hollywood Fashion Tape (for holding on to those risqué fashions) and much, much more.
