Krista D releases “Jane’s World” as her first single hits #1
Krista D is classified as an eclectic pop rock artist who is a unique and feisty singer/songwriter. She combines an undeniably rich, depth to her lyrics, while her charming voice is paired with a raw energy that awakens the senses. Recently released album “Jane’s World” is filled with purity in sound and content that I found particularly refreshing while listening to it. It has been some time that the music industry has heard from a strong female vocalist backed by a truly talented band. One that is willing to step up to the plate and return to the earlier pop/rock/punk sound and bring it to the eager music fans of yesterday and today.
Recorded at Pumpk’n Patch Studios at the age of 24yrs old, “Jane’s World” is the follow up album to Krista’s initial full length album produced at the age of 16 yrs where she initially received serious airplay on Moncton’s CKOE 100.9FM. She noted that “Jane’s World” is the first album that she has had total control of. The first single off the album “Extraordinary” (one of my faves) spent two weeks at #1 on CFAI FM charts above bands AFI and The Goo Goo Dolls. It has since been released to Hot AC radio stations this October. With the CD officially released October 26th, the band has kicked off a mini tour concentrating at the moment on the East Coast. Band members include Krista D vocals, Phil Acheson on lead guitar, Jeb Dalling on bass and drummer Math Pinet.
“Jane’s World” is packed with intelligent and thought provoking lyrics but remains upbeat and fun, along with a couple of more serious songs that encompasses subject matter on domestic and child abuse. Krista notes in a press release with Skylar Entertainment “The subject matter may seem dark, but the songs are usually presented in such a way that I’m hoping people can find the situations relatable.”
