Purse designers are a light in the dark

The pair had a lightbulb moment when Kurcz and Lee were both in a darkened Hollywood nightclub, and Kurcz was again rummaging frantically through the contents of her purse, unable to see a thing in the blackened lounge.
Kurcz jokingly commissioned Lee to install a light into her purse, and the rest was history.
Soon after, the two created Solas Fashions and designed several handbags and totes to light up the lives of urban fashionistas and handbag fanatics.
“I never expected it to get this big. We were a small operation from the beginning,” says Kurcz. “The celebrities love our bags not only because they light up, but because they’re timeless.”
Britney Spears was the first celebrity to purchase a Solas bag, after her mother bought it as a gift for the star.
The purses have also been spotted on popular teen drama, The OC, and have been toted by celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Bai Ling, and Scarlett Johansen.
These kitschy purses are cute, but they can come with a Hollywood price, ranging from $130 US to $175 US.
