Tastemakers Lounge celebrates Peace, Love and Film at the Toronto International Film Festival

Once again, rock-it promotions, inc. is making over a suite at Toronto International Film Festival hotspot the Intercontinental Hotel Toronto Yorkville for the fifth year of the Tastemakers Lounge, a celebrity gifting suite. With the theme of this year’s lounge being Peace, Love and Film, and War Child Canada as the official charity, Tastemakers Lounge 2009 is sure to be a rewarding experience for celebrities in town for the festival.

Always a trendsetter, the Tastemakers Lounge will gift talent and VIPs in town for TIFF with cosmetics from Joe Fresh Beauty, board games from Mattel, tasty treats from Sexy Gourmet Food Co., apparel from local eco-label Guats, totes from Vancouver-based Bring Your Own Bag (BYOB), gift certificates from Didier, prestige fragrance for men and women from D&G and more.

Tastemakers’ official media partner, AMC, will keep guests to the lounge entertained with complimentary Mad Men and Breaking Bad DVD sets.

Photojournalist Rosie Levine, who has chronicled Toronto’s social and cultural scene for more than two decades, will join the Tastemakers Lounge, inviting guests to participate in her forthcoming book, Celebrity Encounters of the Peace-ful Kind. For the past few years, she’s been photographing numerous celebrities casually and candidly flashing the peace sign, including Katie Couric, Morgan Freeman and Justin Timberlake. Proceeds from the book will be donated to War Child.

Joe Fresh Beauty will share the cosmetic genius of its affordable, high quality product line with a make-up artist who will be available in the lounge throughout the week for touch-ups, red carpet looks and pre-interview make-up applications. Media are invited to experience this star treatment during their appointments.

Yorkville salon Chiggy’s Touch will be styling visitors to the lounge with camera-ready hair for the red carpet. A Chiggy’s stylist will be available throughout the week to create star worthy looks with Rowenta’s new line of high-end styling tools made with their signature innovation, beautifully styled in smoky cocoa and brushed gold hues reflecting the brand’s supreme quality and sleek aesthetics.

Mattel brings the joy and family fun of game night back with the award-winning card and party game APPLES to APPLES®, where players use their imaginations to come up with surprising and outrageous comparisons from a wide range of people, places, things and events. Mattel will also showcase Pictionary Man™, which combines the classic Pictionary® Game with charades to create a game that involves drawing, electronic clues and interactive accessories. Visitors to the lounge will be able to join in on the fun by taking part in a competition that will last the entire week.

The lounge’s lavish décor comes care of Toronto firm Croma Design, who bring their multidisciplinary, design services to the unique setting of a gift lounge.
